Indiana Senior Photos: Kyle Vandeputte

A couple of days ago, I shot Senior photos for local CCHS student Kyle Van Deputte. Kyle is heavily involved in school activities and sports and looks forward to the next phase of his adult life. As the son of Culver’s local Assistent Fire Chief, there are some strong expectations for Kyle. I think he will have no problem meeting them.

An hour before the shoot, I considered calling off the session because it was cloudy and overcast and didn’t look like we’d have very good weather for the shoot. The old joke that if you don’t like the weather in Indiana, wait an hour, couldn’t have been more true. Sixty minutes later, the morning haze and cloud cover had blown off and made for a nice a day. I tried some new lighting techniques on the golf course and was thrilled to get some cool shots of Kyle putting and swinging. I wish him all the luck for a great end to his senior year. I look forward to following his progress after Culver, as he’s a great young man and has great role models for parents.

CMA Varsity Baseball Photos: Culver Academy vs. North Miami

On Wednesday, the Culver Academy Varsity Baseball team continued its winning streak as the team hosted North Miami High School. The game started slow with North Miami scoring the first few points. However, Culver came together and took control of the game. The final score was Culver-15, North Miami-5.

I’ve posted a few posted here. Other photos from the game are posted at:

CMA Rugby Photos: Culver Academy Varsity vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger

Yesterday, I photographed the  Culver Academy’s varsity rugby team as they hosted Fort Wayne’s Bishop Dwenger for an evening game at Fleet Field. Though Culver had a few players with injuries, they played exceptionally well. After scoring within the first minute of the game, they lead the entire game and won 30 to 10.

I’ve posted some photos here. There are a couple hundred more photos posted at:

Wish Upon A Wedding Photographer: Sally and Tom

A few weeks ago, Ginny and I traveled to Anderson, Indiana to donate our services to the Wish Upon a Wedding organization for a lovely couple, Sally and Tom, getting married this weekend. Due to confidentiality agreements, I am unable to share photos or any of the details though I am able to direct you to the official release about the engagement shoot and Sally and Tom. If you are unfamiliar with Wish Upon A Wedding, please take a few moments to read about the organization and the services that they are providing across the country. It truly is a special group that I’m proud to be a part of.

Sally and Tom’s story can be read at:

Culver Academy Garrison Parade: Parent’s Weekend 2011

Parents’ weekend on Sunday was a great day for Culver Academy’s Garrison Parade. The weather was nice. The boys and girls looked sharp. The band sounded good. The trucks all ran and were clean. And the horses, for the most part, behaved themselves. The parade was everything that you’d expect 8 months into the school year.

I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:

CGA JV Lacrosse Photos: Culver Academy vs. Park Tudor

The undeated Culver Academy Girls JV Lacrosse team played Park Tudor High School, which is the school that I would have attended had I not chosen Culver 28 years ago. The girls are still undefeated with an easy win and score of 12-to-2. The girls played exceptionally well and they have a coach who has developed the team. (Several of the girls had never played lacrosse before Culver.)

To the parents and kids, let me apologize. I started watching the game without a jacket on. With the wind, it was too cold for me. The only jacket that I had in the car was my embroidered CulverPhotos.com jacket, which is bright red, not the right color when shooting a game against Park Tudor. In my defense, I only have one embroidered jacket. When I had it made, I wanted  a bright color that wouldn’t offend Culver Aacdemy supporters or Culver Communuity High School fans when I shot games where the two schools played one another. With that in mind, I chose red. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten a red jacket, an orange jacket, and a maroon jacket. Sorry if it looked like I was supporting your opponent.
