Trent Becker Senior Photo Session

One of Ginny’s favorite people in town is Chad Becker, a police officer who works for the town of Culver. A couple of weeks ago, I photographed Chad’s younger brother Trent for his senior photoshoot. Talk about a nice family. Trent was very laid back, friendly, and a lot like his brother. I enjoyed the shoot and hope Trent has a great senior year.

Indiana Senior Photos: Kyle Vandeputte

A couple of days ago, I shot Senior photos for local CCHS student Kyle Van Deputte. Kyle is heavily involved in school activities and sports and looks forward to the next phase of his adult life. As the son of Culver’s local Assistent Fire Chief, there are some strong expectations for Kyle. I think he will have no problem meeting them.

An hour before the shoot, I considered calling off the session because it was cloudy and overcast and didn’t look like we’d have very good weather for the shoot. The old joke that if you don’t like the weather in Indiana, wait an hour, couldn’t have been more true. Sixty minutes later, the morning haze and cloud cover had blown off and made for a nice a day. I tried some new lighting techniques on the golf course and was thrilled to get some cool shots of Kyle putting and swinging. I wish him all the luck for a great end to his senior year. I look forward to following his progress after Culver, as he’s a great young man and has great role models for parents.

Indiana Sports Photography: CMA Varsity Baseball vs. CCHS

Earlier this week, the Culver Academies Varsity Baseball Team hosted the Culver Community High School team. Both teams played very well and managed to keep the score close. The CMA team won with a score of 3-to-2. I’ve posted some photos here; there are several more posted at:

CCHS Basketball vs. Argos High School

The Culver Community High School basketball teams are rocking it this year! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to attend the girls’ games, but I did make it to the Sectional game for the boys last week. The Culver Cavaliers played their long-time rivals from Argos High School in JV and Varsity Basketball. All teams played well and were exciting to watch. Argos won the JV game but Culver won the Varsity game. I’ve included my favorite photos here. Other photos from the game are posted at:

Indiana Sports Photography: Culver Academy Wrestling vs. CCHS

Earlier this week, a snow storm may have delayed school from starting on time but it didn’t affect the sports schedule as Culver Community High School hosted the Culver Academy team. The meet was exciting to watch though I’ll admit that I do not know or fully understand the rules. Having said that, I’m not really sure which team won. I hope the pictures don’t reflect the fact that I don’t know this sport very well.

Indiana Senior Pictures: Kaitlyn

About a week ago, we shot Kaitlyn’s senior photos. Kaitlyn is a senior at Culver Community Schools. She has a love of photography and takes pictures at sporting events, of friends, and so on. I get to see her when I’m at Culver shooting sports events. I always enjoy talking to her. She had some great locations in mind for her shoot, including a private property that still has some corn stalks standing, which made for a great background setting.  We enjoyed working with Kaitlyn. Her kind nature is evident in the photographs. We wish her all the best with her senior year and look forward to hearing about her plans for next year.

On Thursday night, the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams from Culver Community High School played New Pairie High School  in Culver. In additiona to the games, there was also a ceremony to honor the two CCHS Seniors on the team.

The girls from Culver played hard, but New Praire proved to be a tough opponent and won both matches. I’ve posted a few photos here. Other are located at:

Indiana Sports Photography: CCHS Varsity Football vs. Jimstown

D3S_3660

Friday Night Football at its finest! Last night I photographed the Culver Cavaliers as their Varsity team played against Jimtown High School in Culver, Indiana.  It was a great game to watch and CCHS played extremely well considering their team appeared to have about half the number of players as Jimtown. Watching the game, the score could have gone either way as there was’nt a dominant team. Unfortunately, Culver Community couldn’t pull out the win. The final score: Culver-14 Jimtown- 21. Great effort, Culver. You worked hard and it’s obvious why you are having such a successful season! I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:

Indiana Sports Photographer: CCHS Girl’s Varsity Soccer vs. Westville

Yesterday afternoon, after the boy’s soccer game, the CCHS girl’s varsity soccer team hosted Westville High School in Culver. Due to dimming light and a prior engagment, I was unable to stay for the entire game. I was able though to watch 60 of the 80 minutes of game play. From what I did see, the girls of Culver played extremely well and were headed for an easy win. (When I left, the score was 5-to-0 and 80% of the play was on Westville’s goal end.)

I’ve posted some photos here. Other photos are located at:

Indiana Sports Photographer: CCHS Boy’s Varsity Soccer vs. Argos High School

Two days ago, I photographed the Culver Community High School Cavaliers Boy’s Varsity Soccer Team as they played Argos High School at Culver. I’ve been told that this is normally a huge rivalry game that has resulted in some fan and spectator problems in the past. Luckily, this was not the case last night. The game started with CCHS scoring an exciting and tying goal that ended the first half with a score of 1-to-1. Unfortunately, the final score was Culver-1, Argos-4, as Argos rallied in the second half. Both teams played hard. I think the Culver team has a lot of potential and a couple of great coaches. I hope to photograph them again.
