Culver Indiana Portrait Photographer: Bartleman Family
This afternoon, I was hired to photograph the Bartleman family and their two puppies after the Culver Academy Garrison Parade. The Bartlemans wanted to get this photoshoot because they are all in the same place only a few times a year.
We decided that the lakefront and at the senior ring would provide some ideal backdrops, so we chose a couple of different angles in the ring. We didn’t have the best light, as it was a bit overcast, but the Bartleman family brings their own light to a shot. They have great humor and had Ginny and I laughing the whole time. We all had a good laugh when we realized that we were so focused on getting the dogs to look at the camera that we forgot about the rest of the group. We had a blast with this family and were honored they let us take some pictures for their next Christmas card.
Culver Academy Parent’s Weekend Photos: Fall Ball
As part of Parent’s Weekend, one of the two formal dances held on campus highlights Saturday night. During the dance, there is an exibition put on by the officers that dates back to Culver’s origins and ties into their military heritage. This exibition is call “Officer’s Figure,” which involves both the students’ dates and their mothers. It truly is unique thing to watch as the officers are in their full Dress As and they march through a precision routine. Standing on the sidelines, I can always tell the people who have never watched Officer’s Figure. If you’ve never seen one, I encourage you to witness it sometime. Culver Academy Horsemanship Photos: Eqestrienne Performance

Culver Indiana Photographer: Culver Community Youth Football
What a fun game to watch and a beautiful day to be outside. I always enjoy watching the younger kids play sports as it is often more interesting than some of the sports with the older kids. Young kids make all the fun mistakes, and they are so full of energy and enthusiasm. The Culver Community Youth Football team didn’t fare well against the Lancers, but it was still enjoyable to watch. I think both teams played well and I was actually surprised that these youngsters played as hard as they did. Culver Academy Sailing Photos: Culver Academy Sailing
What a gorgeous day to sail. It was bright and sunny though probably a little cold out on the water. This weekend, the Culver Academy Sailing Team hosted a sailing regatta on Lake Maxinkuckee. I shot these from a pier using a 70-200mm lens with a 2x multiplier. There are more photos at www.culverphotos.com.
Culver Academy Soccer Photos: CMA JV Soccer vs. Mishawaka Marian
What a great day for a soccer game at Culver Academy. This evening, the CMA Eagles JV Soccer Team hosted Mishawaka Marian High School for a soccer match that was quite exciting to watch. The teams were closely skilled with no domintating winner. Due to a previous appointment and fading light (the game didn’t start until 6:30), I could stay only for the first half.
